Archbishop Dr Petrus John Masango.

Archbishop Dr Petrus John Masango is one of the most influential leaders in the history of St Johns Apostolic Faith Mission. He took control of the St johns church in 1972 after a court battle with the then Archbishop Johannes Nku. The exact details of the rift are out of the scope of this blog. He was married to Annah Seipati Masango who was often referred to as Mme Annah.

Under Archbishop Masango, the church grew to unexpected proportions and by the time of his death, he had build 35 Churches. More on Archbishop Masango will follow in coming posts. Contac us on facebook using this link

Thank you for creating this web, so we can help one another because when it comes to the history of our church, we know nothing. Sibonga kakhulu, kodwa I have come across the story of the late prophetess Mme Christinah and I would like to get some insight on our founder late Arch Dr. PJ Masango, because he was mentioned in the visions of our late prophetess Mme Nku. It was clear stated that he was gonna be powerful and we would like to get more info on his journey as a father of our church.

  34. Ukuthula bantwana baka baba. I am a former member of the church who decided to move out of the church amicable after i realized that i needed to know Christ more and have a personal relationship with him and the holy spirit. I was born in St John and my parents are reverends in the church but i believe i was not called in the church. All i wanted was this wonder making Jesus since little was said about him i felt very uncomfortable staying and i decided to leave in 2001, which was difficult though considering that i was born in the church but i had to go forfeiting my membership, brass band, mokete, izihlabeleli and many things. Many bad things were said will happen to me but instead grace and mercy of God followed me till today and i am more prosperous than before. I still love the church and will never despise it but only if the church can preach more of Jesus and his salvation. Tell people that Jesus is the only way to heaven and there is NO shortcuts just becuase your membership tickects have are up to date or ugqoka isembatho does not mean automatic entry to heaven unless you confess Jesus as the Lord and saivour. It is my prayer that this truth be revealed to you as you read this message. Amen and be blessed

I was born by parents who are members of St John in fact @ chome in our own yard there is a church but I decided to leave the church after realising that Jesus is disappearing and is being replaced by baba Masango. All the songs with the name Jesus are being replaced by the name of Baba Masango. This is pure Idolatry

    3. You know my friends I'm only 2 years in ST John, Lekokoaneng Lesotho.I dont want to say I like this discussion but it is interesting to see how earthly people judge each others ways of getting close to God.And my friend who left ST John for another church, which is abviously Pholosoa from the way you talk, I would want to say wat I always tell people: A God- Man relationship is such a personal relationship and it is your rite to choose a way that MAKES SENSE to you, God gave use the bigest gift as human beings, free-will. But don't judge; We will call Molimo a ntate Masango le 'Me Anna because that's wat works for us and the name of Jesus will never die as is the name of Moses, Nkho Mantsopa, Ntate Moholo Matita, Ntate Matsoso and the other prophets who were give that which me and you don't have, a place close to God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit.

    4. Hey, listen to this:
"tlong ho jeso, le tleng ka pele,
lentwe la hae le supa tsela
le ena o teng ka sebele
      ontsare tlo honna"
Do not get the message wrong, Father Masango has never replaced Jesus. All we do is thanking jesus for bringing us this wonderful prophet who performed miracles with the power from Jesus.
All you need to know is,tshebetso ya St John ke tshebetso ya moya. You may never understand until you always listen to moya wa baporofeta.
Stop judging the church because u dnt understand whats going on. Take ur time and pray and ask jesus why he introduced St johns in the words.
"O Lord my God, when I in awesome wonder
consider all the works thy hand hath made,
I see the stars, I hear the mighty thunder,
thy power throughout the universe displayed"
Then sings my soul, my Saviour God; to thee,
How great thou art, how great thou art!
Then sings my soul, my Saviour God; to thee,
How great thou art, how great thou art!

  40. People here is the thing, it doesnt matter which church you go to, but if you're not going to read the bible urself, ur taking chances with ur life. HOSEA 4:6 states that God says that his people die because of lack of knowledge. If you are going to depend on other peoples ideas and understanding of God(which is not wrong) bt u do not STUDY the word of God urself, indeed ur wasting ur time. Now how do you study the word of GOD? Where do you start? The OLD OR NEW testament? Dear people of God, read Jeremia31:31-40 and you will notice that God says he will greate a new convenent{Testament/Selekane} in which he himself will teach his children and no one will say know "Jehovah". This new convent is actually the new Testament convenent which he reveals himself in a new name and is the only name he RESPONDS to nd JESUS is that name.In the Old testament God used vaious names like Jehovah Shamah, Jehovah Idonai, Jehovah Almighty and the other names to explain what he is, but now all those names are packed into one name that I earliar mentioned {JESUS}. Do you see how i am able to explain, its not because im cleva bt I have Learned To study the word of God myself and also listen to other peoples information, bt ultimately it must be proven with a verse in the Bible{especially the new Testament}

  44. Ukuthula bantwana baka Baba. I am blessed by the overwhelming expression about the foundeing members of our beloved church. My grand parents were also members of St Johns and we grew up in this church and I must say i am where i am today ngenxa yentsebenzelo yabaprofeti.

However as I am growing more and more in Faith and understanding of the wordd of God. I think really there is a need in our church to embrace Jesus as the book of John is saying that 'For the law was given throgh Mosses;Grace and Truth came through Jesus. John1:17.

Especialy us, as young people living in the 21st century where the world is being revealed like never before we have a responsibility to embrace Jesus anf his teachnings.

  69. Hi guys iam a former member of that Church who is now saved and born again, i started to recieve horrible dreams strange visions around 2011 March, where sepentine figures and strange spirits anounced and reinforced me to take over and lead the Church after mother Maragu, at first i was convienced that it was the Lord Jesus Christ of Nazareth that was talking to me and infact i remember one day an anouncement was made in the pullpit in Katlehong headcourters around 2011 that supposingly there was someone who was beang chosen to lead the Church i remember that they said that he was allready there, but as time went on these spirits began to insist that i leave praying in the Lord's name but that i should start to pray in father Masango's name, the word of God says that Jesus Christ of Nazareth is the way and the truth! JOHN14:6, amongst the many things they also said that i was to be made into a homosexual so that the Church should start merrying people across the genders. But after i went to seak out for deliverance i recieved the gift of the Holly Spirit JOHN16:13, Truth , undrestanding and revalation came upon me like the midday sun ISAIAH58:8, isaw father Masango in his seat where he faces a curse of God's iternal wrath which he inharited from a sepeanth, he had a pegeon with him and i realised that it was the spirit the Church not the Holly Spirit the Spirit of The Most High God.
i was also given a Great vision of the Spirit of God He looked like a human being and was like a Male,
guys i love you with the love of the Lord you need to get out ! of there and seak out for deliverance JEHOVAH GOD will be with you and give you power and courage, get out! of there get out! that is the devil's Church

  71. If it is written God of Abraham Jacob and Isaac why cant't it be God of Father Masango. Prophets die and others are born, only their bodies leaves the world but their names remain. If God allows thier names to be used for a purpose so shall it be. Our God is the God who uses everything he can use the name of the prophet of his choice to perform a miracle though the name of jesus is there. it is written that his thoughts are not ours. Dont rely on your own understanding says the Lord. If you doubt St john ask the Holyspirit before you condemn for everything is created by God for purpose. God used Moses stick to divide the sea, Jesus used saliva and mud to heal the blind peter and other disciples used shadows and the name of Jesus to heal the sick, Paul and silas used handkeirchiefs to heal the sick, the lake of Bethesda was used to heal the sick so is jordan river which healed Namaan, Jesus also used the word to command demons out of the possesed and (elisha's body was used to rise the dead if not mistaken here), God used Arons stick to demonstarte his power to the unbeliever Faro, and he used a donkey to warn Balaam, Jesus also used the word of God to heal when preaching, so if God allowed Father Masangos name to be used for a purpose whats the confusion. Our God is one and we people are the ones trying to divide him out of lack of knowledge going ahead of him with our intellectualities. May our Lord jesus give us spirit of sight, wisdom and understanidng. May he open our eyes of faith to see the way he wants and may he guides us and make us one in Christ. You are because im and iam because you are. WE are one body of christ and to my believe is this life is not all about churches but about our Lord Jesus Christ who is only church now why fighting over the churches we attend. Our Lord jesus need your pure heart and perfection not the church you go to, what Christ you present to unbelievers is what matters to God. You might be a pentercostal member claiming to be born again when your herat and your works denies you and you might be a st john member but be born again more than someone who claims to be a pholoso member and vise versa, so people check your works, actions, hearts, attitudes before you talk alot for the kindom of God is near. Jesus is not going to ask you whether you were born again or not or which church you were going to during judgement but hes going to judge according to your works. Make the way of the Lord straight, purify your hearts and stay away from evil eg from grudges, hatreds, critisisms , anger, bitterness, stealing fornicaton adutelry, unforgiveness judging others, careless talks, gossips arguments etc and strive for doing good. Love one another and pray for those whom you think are lost so that Jesus Christ hand can reach them and show them the way through your prayers never cease to pray asking the holyspirit to assists you for we can do all things through christ who strengthens us. Seek the holy spirit to give you all fruits of the spirit ie gentleness, kindness love for God and people, peace joy happiness humbleness faithfullness, faith hope and trust in the Lord. Be the doer of the word. Act upon it. May God bless all of you people. Amen and Amen.
